FAQ'S

What kinds of tours do you offer? How much are the tours?

I offer both public and private walking tours in NYC. I created my tours from my years of growing up and living in New York City. They are from walking home from work, walking to school and walking just to get anywhere!

Pricing are the following:

Central Park:

Public: $80 per person / Private: $160 per person

Bridges:

Public: $60 per person / Private: $120 per person

NYC Basketball Tour:

Public Only: $150 per person

These tours are capped at no more than 8 per group, public tours require a minimum of 2 total guests for the tour to run.

I can also offer personalized Custom Private Tours if there are other areas of NYC you would like to explore! Just fill out this form, or reach out to our email thenativenyctour@gmail.com, and we can plan an itinerary and price quote together!

Pricing is more expensive on third party websites like TripAdvisor or GetYouGuide due to those websites taking a large commission per booking. Please consider booking directly through my website for the best price!

Why is it called "The Native NYC Tour"?

The term "Native New Yorker" is often used as somebody who is born and raised within New York City. I have spent most of my life in NYC being born at Mt Sinai hospital on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, going to K-12 in the NYC public school system, and attended half of my college with the City University of New York (the other half was at San Francisco State University). The goal for The Native NYC Tour is to give people the experiences of New York City from somebody who actually grew up in the city!

Are you a licensed tour guide?

Yes! I have a Sightseeing License from the City of New York. I also am a proud member of the Guides Association of New York City (GANYC).

How can I book a tour?

Please follow our Book A Tour page for more information.

What should I bring to the tour?

I would recommend shoes that you are comfortable walking in, something to take pictures with (we will be passing by plenty of good photo spots) and water (there will be places along the way to buy water, but could be very expensive - especially on the Central Park tour). Also please check the weather report before the tour to dress appropriately - NYC can get very wet, cold or hot at any time.

Is the tour good for children?

I would recommend the tour for anyone over 18 (you need to be at least 18 to book the tour). If you wish to bring along somebody under 18, please reach out to us at thenativenyctour@gmail.com in advance.

What is your cancellation policy?

Bookings can be canceled up to 48 hours of the start of the tour for a full refund. If you wish to cancel within 48 hours, please reach out to thenativenyctour@gmail.com. We cannot offer a refund at that point, but can offer a credit for a future tour within 2 weeks of the original booking (subject to availability).

Public tours have a minimum requirement of at least 2 people booked. If the tour does not met the minimum booked (2) we will notify you of the tour cancelation and either offer a full refund or allow a credit for any other tours within 2 weeks (subject to availability).

For custom private tours, you can pay in full or leave a 50% deposit at time of booking. We allow a refund of the deposit 2 weeks before the scheduled tour day, after that the deposit is non-refundable. The rest of the payment is due within 24 hours of the tour date.

Please note, cancellation policies might be different on third party websites like TripAdvisor or GetYouGuide.

What is your weather policy?

The weather will be constantly checked ahead of your booking, and within 24 hours of your tour we will confirm. Generally we keep all tours unless there is heavy rain or snow in the forecast, or if the weather will be too hot to safely complete the walking tour. You will either be refunded or can apply a credit for a future tour within 2 weeks (subject to availability).

What if I cannot complete the tour?

Your safety comes first! If you cannot complete the tour due to feeling unwell, we will arrange for you to get to where you need to go safely. Unfortunately once the tour starts we cannot offer any refunds.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept all major credit cards via the Book A Tour page. If you prefer to pay cash, or are having issues with the website, please feel free to reach out to thenativenyctour@gmail.com. Payment is due at time of booking.

Am I required to tip?

Since I am the sole owner of the tour I will not expect a tip. But tipping is a gesture that the tour went above and beyond your expectations and are always greatly appreciated!
